Set-Up DocuSign

The DocuSign set-up is divided into two parts:

  1. Creating a DocuSign Developer Account. Must be done whether you have an existing account or a new user.
  2. Linking Your DocuSign Account to FranchiseSoft.


Create a Docusign Developer Account 

  1. Use the following instructions to create a DocuSign Developer account and obtain an Integrator Key to link your account with FranchiseSoft.
  2. Create DocuSign Developer (Sandbox) Account account here: https://developers.docusign.com.  
  3. Once created, login to your DocuSign Developer account here: https://account-d.docusign.com/#/username.



  4. Click Go to DocuSign. 



  5. Click Templates and create a New template. 
  6. Give your template a name and description and upload the document you wish to turn into a DocuSign from your computer. Click Next.
  7. Click Add Recipients to create up to five signers for your document.



  8. You will now have a drop down in the upper left with the names of your signer(s). 
  9. Click the fields on the left-hand side to place them on the document for your signer(s). When you are finished, click Save and Close.



  10. From your developer account, select Go to Admin in the account settings drop-down menu. 
  11. In DocuSign Admin, click API and Keys in the left navigation panel. 
  12. Click ADD APP/INTEGRATOR KEY.
  13. Add a description for your application, this is typically something like “Brand X” or “Brand X FS Integration”.
  14. Click ADD to generate the integrator key.
  15. Click SAVE.



  16. Your integrator key is a string that appears in the My Integrator Keys section of API and Keys in DocuSign Admin. 


Use the following instructions to link your Live DocuSign Account in FranchiseSoft: 

  1. Copy your Integrator Key and Account ID from your Developer Account and enter that information in FranchiseSoft: 






  2. In FranchiseSoft, Click the 20+ transactions button.



  3. Back in DocuSign, in your list of Integrator Keys choose the key you would like to promote to the production environment and select ACTIONS -> Review Transactions.


      
  4. Input the date your 20+ API transactions were run in the demo environment.
  5. Click REVIEW to start the automated review process. Reviews may take up to 20 minutes to complete.
  6. Upon successful review of the transactions, the key’s status will change to Review has Passed.
  7. If the system cannot find at least 20 error-free, consecutive API transactions that do not violate API Rules and Limits, the key’s status will change to Review has Failed.
  8. To see the most recent review status, select ACTIONS -> Review Results.
  9. Once your transaction review has passed, the next step is to select a live DocuSign account to promote the key to. Select the key you would like to enable and click ACTIONS -> Go Live.
  10. After accepting the developer terms and conditions a popup comes for login to your live account.
  11. Once authenticated, a list of your live DocuSign accounts will be displayed. Select the account you wish to promote the key to.
  12. After selecting a live account, the key’s status will change to Pending Approval. You do not need to take any action at this point and your key should be promoted in 4-24 hours after reaching this status.
  13. Once complete, you will receive an email notification and the key’s status will change to Live, indicating the key is live in production!
  14. The key will also start displaying in the live DocuSign account it was linked to once it has been enabled.
  15. Return to FranchiseSoft once your key has been approved and switch your Account Type to Live.
